Thirty- seven public servants that graduated from Pacific Institute of Leadership and Governance (PILAG) today with Certificate in Community Government Administration and Certificate of Attainment for Formulating and Aligning Developing Plans today at Kukul Beach Front.
The graduation marked an important event in the Public Service Ministry in Bougainville.
National Public Service Minister Hon. Joe Sungi compels the 37 newly graduated public servants to bring about change in their workplace, to end corruption and complacency, and to bring commitment and competence in performance of their tasks.
He remarked that there is no better time than the present to improve their workplace, and applying what they had learned into practice to improve and transform the people’s negative impression of public service.
Also presented at the PILAG graduation was Regional Member for Bougainville and National Minister for Internal Hon. Peter Tsiamalili Jnr.
“Quality of people justifies the mess pioneers of these certificates. In my view, Bougainville will take lead in the new flat structure of our Government System which is the Autonomous Bougainville Government, Community Government and Village Assembles for the Councils of Elders. I don’t need to worry about that now because I have planners siting before me to bring that in place,” Mr. Tsiamalili said.
