241122HIGH COST OF AIR TRAVELS TO BOUGAINVILLE
NEW DAWN FM NEWS
The people of Bougainville are concerned at the high cost for tickets to fly into Bougainville from Port Moresby as compared to other centres in Papua New Guinea.
Former Secretary for Technical Services, DAVID TUP told New Dawn FM that he was concerned at these fees and wanted AIR NIUGINI to explain why it costs TWO THOUSAND KINA for one way to Buka and less than a Grand from other centres like Rabaul which is nearly the same distance from Port Moresby.
He called on the Bougainville leaders to quickly address this issue because even Christmas and New Year specials does not include Bouganville.
MR. TUP also called on the ABG leadership currently in HONIARA to also look at inviting SOLAIR to fly the Bougainville routes between Buka/Aropa and Tokua to reduce these costs.
He also called on the ABG to re-establish the Bougainville Air Services to service these Bougainville routes.
