Member for Selau Constituency Hon Paul Otto Cheung has named the annual Christ the King celebrated Soccer Tournament after the Late National MP for North Bougainville Hon William Nakin.
Hon Cheung said the office of the late MP represented by his daughter Jocelyn Nakin had been a major sponsor at the tournament and always with the people during this time.
Hon Cheung spoke about unity, progress and discipline not only in Sports and education but professional career path youths choose to take.
‘Sports unites a community, children, youths and elders in the constituency.
‘Sports instills self-discipline for our children to be physically fit and healthy to do other physical activities.
‘Sportsmen and women must look to increase their skills to reach the next best level in their chosen sporting games and if other avenues of opportunities, then grasp it while you can,’ he said.
Hon Cheung applauded community elders at Gohi and Sorom for allowing youths to play soccer. The prizes included two trophies and a cup shield.
