Four teams in the Selau Soccer Association had revived the game through the annual celebration of Christ the King at Hantoa Parish yesterday.
Hundreds of people including women, men and children convened to worship and moved to the field to witness the grand final play offs between the men and womens team.
For the men’s team KB one and KB two both men’s team from Chundawan village, Tarbut ward four in Selau, went head-to-head for the trophy prize.
KB one did not waste anytime to score a goal followed by rival KB two.
Just before half time KB two scored also a goal with a draw of 1 all; after the second half KB one and KB two scored two more goals, drawing 2 all.
And just soon after KB one scored the third goal putting KB one ahead of KB two winning the grand finale.
As for the women’s team Tape from Sanakova went up against Musia from Tarbut as well.
Both teams played exceptionally well with Tape scoring 1 and Musia scoring 1 however, Musia won by one penalty goal.
With final scores Tape one and Musia two goals winning the trophy. Ends//ak
