‘To finding OUT the circumstance of death either by missing persons, fire and suspicious deaths.
‘A lot of cases relating to Coronial matters such as missing persons, fire and suspicious deaths by which police officers fail over the years to report to the coroner.
‘From my observation as the senior Magistrate, investigating police officers never reported those cases to the coroner and some serious cases are still outstanding today.
‘Therefore, there was a need to educate and train these personnel on the importance of the coroner and what information to provide to the coroner inquest,’ he said.
Tasikul made special reference to the corpse of a young female found in the pit toilet of a secondary school in Buin, South Bougainville.
He said the report is yet to reach the coroner and the matter is still outstanding. ENDS///AK
