150622 BOUGAINVILLE COMMEMORATE FOUNDATION DAY

Bougainvilleans throughout the length and breath of the island and the Atolls today commemorated the ABG Foundation day with music and speeches to remind the people on this day in which the first Autonomous Government for Bougainville was established after the first ever ABG election in 2005.
The first Government was formed by the first ABG President the late JOSEPH KABUI.
Since then there have been three other Presidents, JAMES TANIS, DR. JOHN MOMIS and the current President, HON ISHMAEL TOROAMA.
In Buka the ceremony was held at the KUBU Hill with a dawn service which continued to up to lunch today.
In Buka also the VICE PRESIDENT HON PATRICK NISIRA gave the keynote address.
In Arawa the ceremony started with musicians playing music into last night and early this morning.
The ABG President, HON ISHMAEL TOROAMA gave the keynote speech.
There were other activities like cultural dances and singing to commemorate this day.
In Buin, South Bougainville, activities at the BUIN TOWN stage included Police parade displayed by the Bougainville Police Service Southern Command.
Other activities were also staged in the Districts with Bougainvilleans in other centers also commemorating this special day.
