120620 FORTY EIGHT YEARS IN POLITICS ENDS MOMIS COLORFUL CAREER

The ABG PRESIDENT GRAND CHIEF DR. JOHN MOMIS today bid farewell to politics in his final address to the Bougainville House of Representatives broadcasted live on New Dawn FM, NBC Bougainville and Radio Ples lain this morning.
He said that he started Politics in 1972, 48 years ago at the request of NAVIDAKOE NAVITU ASSOCIATION in Central Bougainville who were concerned at the mistreatment of landowners by the Mining giant BCL before independence of Papua New Guinea.
President MOMIS never looked back from then on and continue to fight for the decentralization of powers to all Provinces and not keep all the powers in Port Moresby.
Since then President Momis fought for the rights of ordinary citizens of Papua New Guinea and Bougainvilleans.
In his emotional speech, President MOMIS said that he never deviated from his stand to fight for his people and the wish of Bougainvilleans to self determination.
He advised young and aspiring leaders to make sure they leave the role of distributing goods and services to the administration and concentrate in making good laws that would serve the people of Bougainville in the future.
President MOMIS said materials things like buildings and bridges and monies will end whilst the good laws set by the leaders will remain and remembered by future citizens.
The ABG House of representatives rose for the last time this afternoon as Issue of writs for the ABG 2020 election will be next Wednesday.
