NEW DAWN FM NEWS
The ABG President Grand Chief DR JOHN MOMIS wants the Prime Minister, JAMES MARAPE to jointly establish a treaty Commission with the Autonomous Bougainville Government to supervise the process of consultation that is contemplated under the Bougainville Peace Agreement.
He said that the treaty must be jointly established under the National and ABG law with representatives of both governments, and guarantee an inclusive involvement of all the stakeholders of Bougainville, including, women, landowners, former combatants, the churches, youth, Bougainville Professionals and elected representatives.
President MOMIS said that the outcome of the process of consultation would be an agreement about the way forward, which is captured in a treaty between the National Government and the Transitional Government of Bougainville.
The aim is to conclude a treaty before the National Government elections in 2022.
President MOMIS made these remarks at the Arawa gathering last Friday.
