280912 Minister's Meeting starts

The 3rd Minister's of Agriculture and Forestry Resources for the Pacific started this morning chaired by PNG's Minister for Agriculture and Livestock, TOMMY TOMSCOLL.
This meeting is expected to approve initiatives endorsed by the Heads of Agriculture and Forestry Services early this week.
In his opening address, Chairman and PNG Minister for Agriculture and Livestock, TOMMY TOMSCALL thanked government of Fiji for standing tall and accepting to host this meeting which was supposed to be held in Papua New Guinea.
The Minister said that Papua New Guinea could not host this meeting as it was hosting another important event, which was the National Elections.
The Minister said that the Pacific regio is the most bio-diversified places on earth, in terms of geography, climate,health,culture, language and environment.
He said in this context, I believe our challenges are unique from one country to another country though many concepts of development are common, the roadmaps,strategies and priorities of activity plans differ between nations.
