Christians in Buka Town took to the streets on Good Friday to walk from Buka town to the Hahela Catholic Parish - a 10 km walk uphill from the town.
Churchgoers stopped and prayed at 14 stations to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus.
The walk was broadcast live on New Dawn FM.
The station also conducted a live broadcast of a sports festival in the Hago constituency on Buka island, about an hour’s drive from Buka Town.
Station manager Aloysius Laukai says New Dawn FM will be installing another relay transmitter after Easter to ensure its signal covers the rest of Buka Island.
The equipment for this was donated by Aloysius’ company, Tambolema Trading Limited.
