Today the International Organization for Migration Development Office in conjunction with the Climate Change Development Authority Office in Port Moresby, presented number of project materials worth more than K150, 000 to the natural disaster stricken community of Carteret’s.
In receiving the IOM project materials on behalf of his people, ABG Member for Atolls and Public Service Minister Hon Raymond Masono, thanked IOM and Climate Change Development Authority representatives, for their timely assistance in their time of need.
Hon, Masono said his people have been victimized for nearly 4 decades, because of the effects of the natural disaster pattern and, while Climate Change is much talked about on an international level, his people have survived and adapted to them, the projects materials presented today will greatly assist his people to rehabilitate them, and their lively hood. Hon Masono is appealing strongly to his people to take ownership of the projects for the people and not personalize them for their own benefits.
Meanwhile, the International Organization for Migration delegation and other dignitaries will travel to the outer Island of Carteret’s tomorrow to deliver the project materials to the two COE Communities Hapio and Malivu.
