Three candidates nominated for the South Bougainville Open seat in Buin today.
They are JOE KIM SUAMARU from Siwai who is running under the PNG party led by BELDEM NAMAH.
HERMAN BUAGO from BUIN is running under TRIUMPH HERITAGE EMPOWERMENT PARTY led by DON POLYE.
AND ALBERT MAGOI from BANA is running under the PEOPLES PROGRESS PARTY led by BEN MICHAH.
Candidate JOE KIM SWAMARU nominated first and was led to the nomination arena by two Traditional groups.
In his address to the people, MR. SWAMARU said that he would work on creating economic recovery for South Bougainville never addressed by successive leaders.
He also said that he would like to invest in Educating the children of South Bougainville who will lead Bougainville in the future.
In his address to the people, candidate HERMAN BUAGO said that he sees four thins in a good leader that can lead the people into the future.
ONE, Education, two outside Exposure, three Experience and four the heart to work with the people.
MR. BUAGO was led by two Khaur groups to the nomination stage.
The third candidate, ALBERT MAGOI came in a convoy of twenty vehicles and nominated under the Assistant Returning officer for BANA District SAM ROROGA.
The others nominated under the Assistant Returning Officer for Buin, MATHEW MAAU.
In his address to the people who gathered to witness his nomination, MR. MAGOI said that he feels that only an ex-combatant can complete the peace process into referendum and beyond.
He said as a former combatant he strongly feels he can make last minute changes to the process that past leaders have overlooked.
New Dawn FM understands that Nine Ex combatants were voted into the ABG House since 2005 to fight in the House of Representative for their cause.
