The ABG Vice President, RAYMOND MASONO today thanked the people of LULE and the people of TONSU for setting the way for other constituencies to prepare their areas as weapons ready before December this year.
MR. MASONO made these comments at the retrieving of remains of a former fighter from BUIN who was buried at Novah on Buka island.
MR. MASONO said he had to take nearly half of the Bougainville parliament to the ceremony as a show of confidence of such activities been carried out by the people themselves.
He said he has not seen such events in the past and wanted to witness so that similar activities can be held in other areas of Bougainville.
The Vice President congratulated the member for LULE JOSEPH NABUAI and the member for TONSU IZIKIEL MASAT for making this event possible.
He said that Bougainville needs more of these ceremonies to clear outstanding issues before the referendum in 2019.
Other members who spoke highly of the ceremony were the Speaker, SIMON PENTANU. Minister ALBERT PUNGHAU and JOSEPH WATAWI.
