The ABG President Chief DR. JOHN MOMIS also briefed the ABG House on the question or questions to be put on the Referendum ballot.
In his mid-year statement to parliament, President Momis said that the National constitution is clear, the question must be agreed to by the two governments.
And this must be clear to avoid a disputed or unclear result and most importantly, it must include a choice for separate Independence for Bougainville.
He said that it was in that context that he is confident the Prime Minister and him will reach a clear understanding when they meet in Arawa at the end of the month.
President Momis said they must establish a clear and unambiguous question that affords all Bougainvilleans the choice between Independence and continued autonomy.
He said that at the same time he was also confident that him and the PM will reach a clear agreement on the eligibility criteria to apply for Bougainvilleans living outside of Bougainville that reflects the intention of the constitution and empowers all eligible voters to cast their democratic vote.
