The Regional member for Bougainville and Minister for Bougainville Affairs, JOE LERA explained that his task is to serve the people of Bougainville and since his election he has been investing on Human resource that will support Bougainville after Referendum.
Speaking at the Opening of a Double Classroom at Turiboiru Primary School yesterday, MR. LERA said that in the past leaders have not invested in education facilities that can skill Bougainvilleans like Colleges, Vocational and Universities.
He said this has made Bougainvilleans become dropouts after Grade Twelve throwing them back into the villages.
MR. LERA said that if Bougainville is to sustain its government after referendum Bougainville must invest in graduating engineers, nurses, teachers and other skilled manpower who can create jobs for themselves.
He said that his Polytechnical school at Hutjena will be opening soon under a New Zealand University.
MR. LERA made these remarks at the Opening of a Two in One Classroom at TURIBOIRU Primary School funded from DSIP funds from the member for South Bougainville, TIMOTHY MASIU and a TV Satalite equipments for the Education program funded by the Regional Member, JOE LERA.
