100812MEMBER JOINS OPPOSITION
By Aloysius Laukai
The member for NORTH BOUGAIUNVILLE, LOUTA ATOI yesterday explained why he opted to join BELDEN NAMAH and his group in the opposition ranks.
He told New Dawn FM that he had to move with BELDEN NAMAH and his group as he believed in the leadership of new breed leaders like BELDEN NAMAH who had the heart for the people of Bougainville.
MR. ATOI said he did not want to work with old politicians like the former Prime Ministers, PAIAS WINGTI, SIR JULIUS CHAN and the Chief himself SIR MICHAEL SOMARE because he strongly believes that PAPUA NEW GUINEA desperately needs new and vibrant leaders to get it into the next level.
He called on the people of North Bougainville to remember that he will still have the same level of Government services and funds to deliver to his people.
MR. ATOI however said that under the leadership of BELDEN NAMAH the opposition has organized itself to provide the check and balance to the government of Papua New Guinea.
AND he also said that as a member of the opposition he would be in a better position to question the government on issues affecting Bougainville today.
He said if BELDEN NAMAH becomes the Prime Minister, Bougainville’s issues can be addressed properly and quickly instead of the speed the current process is going on and on.
Ends
Good constructive comment from Joachim!

First of all, my congratulations to Joe Lera for winning and becoming our govenor. Joe is a professional and a very matured person. He has a wealth of experience coupled with good networking which is important for securing funding for projects. I would like to see him working with not only professional Bougainvilleans but also honest and hardworking ones who will back him up with quality advice and other forms of services.
Joe is also somebody who I believe will work in very good terms with the ABG in the region's collective efforts towards achieving what had been agreed to in the peace accords. His initial visit to the President soon after declaration is a very good sign of his leadership's openness in moving forward in a spirit of cooperation.
Joe, Lauta Atoi and Miringtoro must now complement Steven Pirika in his dealings with Bougainville Affairs. I believe Pirika will somehow come to recognize that he needs to open up and work well with our other 3 MPs in order to facilitate the materialization of peace agreements. I understand that Pirika has done some projects on the ground in the South but this should be no reason to forget the bigger picture for which he is now much obliged to by virture of the Ministry that he has been given. I hope they will all rise above petty little politics and foibles of human nature and cooperate very well with each other and make notable achievements for the region.

To maintain solidarity and unity of Bougainville leaders in the national parliament it should have its own political party. Stop running and start working.

You are supposed to be a leader A GOOD LEADER. And as good leaders we have to think and plan ahead thus you will know what step is next to take instead of making yourself look like fools by jumping here and there. and one more thing Bougainville issues can not be solved in just a blink of an eye it takes time and a long process and for you to think that issues can be addressed properly and quickly you must be joking!!! Bear in mind this is Papua New Guinea and your dealing with probably 20 or so provinces the service has to be shared equally.ino bougainville tasol!

Kind of leadership, Hon. Atoi displayed, is that of the wind socks at the end of the Buka Airport runway.

Literally, I agree with all these words for the North Bougainville.
But, you had shown us that you are a leader that only reacts at a sting. You just did not have any pre-government career planning for yourself.
To any aspiring Bougainvillean leader, do your roadmap now so that you don't shame us by hopping here and there once in power
