Bougainville returns mps
By Aloysius Laukai
Bougainville has returned three of the four sitting members in this year's National election with the Regional seat still on count.
From the latest count sitting member Fidelis Semoso is still at a good 3rd place.
This is despite widespread campaign that they have been silent in parliament in the last five years.
And because the vote has shown the complete opposite it seems the members have slowly and silently won the heart of voters to return them back to the Tambaran Haus.
Despite all the campaign talk New Dawn Fm has received congratulation messages to these three Bougainville leaders on its comments page.
They said that they are prepared to work with them to move Bougainville forward.

My Views about MP Pirika. (Iam also his cousin)and some may say blood is thicker than water but I dare to differ. First I commend him for his success in Business as he is only a grade 8 drop out but politics is a different kettle of fish. Totally different!
The basic reason why he won by a big margin is that people were able to compare his outcome (feeder roads, schools, health centers, electric power to Buin town) to that of former MP Laimo. Laimo resided mostly in POM and only visited South Bougainville during elections. MP Pirika left POM including the running of his Business to his wife and son and returned to reside in his home village in Siwai. I applaud him for that! drinking and the way he spend a lot of money entertaining
This thing I dislike about him is that of entertanining his supporters with the amber fluid. That has to change! We must nurture the culture of celebrating through other ways. But hang on! This is also not even the time to celebrate, we got much work ahead. In the process of celebration with the amber liquid, his women folk supporters (were left out?), how did he thank them?
MP Pirika, please start sealing the roads in South Bougainville, and you will truely win my heart...
GOD BLESS BOUGAINVILLE

Ryan, you dont know who Pirika is and who i am. I am his cousin brother.Obviously i agree with you that Pirika has done alot in terms of infrustructural development. However ,My cousin brother only finished from grade 8,obviously you and i would need an educated leader who talks politics, talks law, and a political figher to who will fight for independence for Bougainville.

They will sleep in Parliament, I guarantee you! Its only in the last year of their 5 year tenure that they will wake up from their slumber, to cajole the voters again with quick buck!
To prove me wrong, MP for south Bougainville, you need to start sealing the roads first, renovate Buin town, then you will go down in history.

I hope those returning mps should bring some obvious changes to Boubainville. Most times they make empty promises just to win the vote, however, i hope this time fullfill what is meant to be done,do as you have said..!
