Churches,
chiefs and youths in the Buin District have formed committees to clear the area
off home brew and other criminal activities.
Reports
reaching New Dawn FM said that since the establishment of four committees, more
than 70 gas bottles have been collected from brewers over the last month.
The
report said youths locate places where home brew is manufactured and supplied
and reports to a committee that then does awareness raising in the area.
The
gas bottles are then collected by community police with the help of the Buin
Police.
Reports
from Buin say the town has banned drunkards from entering, making the town a
safe place to live.
The
Makis Constituency is now totally free of home brew while Baubake and Lule will
be free by next month. Work has also begun at Muguai village in the Konnou constituency.
A
Buin chief told New Dawn FM that for the first time the people can sell their produce
freely at the local market.
