The move by the ABG President Hon James Tanis to open an
office for the President in Arawa has been welcomed.
General of the Mekamui Defence Force, Chris Uma, has issued
a statement supporting the move and at the same time guaranteeing the safety of
the President and his staff.
Mr Uma’s group, which has been operating outside the
Bougainville Peace Agreement, called on the ABG to establish quickly in Arawa.
He said his group wholeheartedly welcomed the move and would
be working closely with the ABG to establish peace and normalcy in Arawa and
Bougainville as a whole.
New Dawn FM understands that discussions are taking place to
reconcile Mr Uma and his team with Ishmael Toroama and his ex combatants.
The first big reconciliation will be held at Panguna when preparations
have been completed.
It is very informative blog Thinking and working safely can prevent most accidents. You can become aware of the most common hazards in the office environment. The following are some examples of common hazards and what you can do to prevent them from becoming accidents.

The European Shareholders of Bougainville Copper (ESBC) welcome that normality turns back to Arawa and the whole region.
We hope that the reconciliations that start on October 9th in Panguna will be an overwhelming success and a shining example for the whole region.
Earlier this year the ESBC made a proposal on the BCL 2009 Annual General Meeting to our board of directors of Bougainville Copper to incorporate former Me'ekamui Forces and other goodwilling Freedom Fighters into a future Mine Security Brigade in Panguna.
Citation:
ESBC asked:
"Did the board discuss the economic situation of the former freedom fighters or other combatants? Do you intend giving them jobs in the mine to avoid any dissatisfaction in the future?"
Peter Taylor (Chairman of Bougainville Copper)answered:
"The Board does not discuss its deliberations publicly. However if the mine is reopened the company will give priority to employing locally, based on qualifications to do the jobs. This will hopefully include ex-combatants and others."

Today, only 4 months later, General Chris Uma made this important step to a better future for him and his men. Congratulations!

This is good news, excellent to know that the President will have an office in Arawa and also that it will be safe.
It is also very encouraging to read that discussions are taking place to reconcile Mr Uma and his team with Ishmael Toroama and his ex combatants.
I would like to visit friends in Arawa but want to know that the town is safe to visit.
