Revenues generated from current tax sources are insufficient to fund the
recurrent Budget for the Autonomous Bougainville Government, according to an update
for ABG Members issued by the Office of the Clerk of Parliament.
The update reports that funds to support members in their work should come
from internal revenue which is not meeting forecasts thus delaying the work of MPs
who rely heavily on the Members Support Grants.
The report stressed that this arrangement needs to be reviewed and
changes made to funding arrangements for the Bougainville Legislature.
