Carteret board established to oversee move

The Tulele Peisa organisation which is spearheading the move by Carteret islanders to resettle on mainland Bougainville has a new management board to oversee its activities in the next two years.

The chairman is Aloysius Laukai who is also manager of New Dawn FM.

The board met for the first time last week and will sit again in November.

Other board members are Thomas Tamusio from Tamusio Lawyers, Fr John Bosco Kensie from the Tinputz Parish, Sr Lorraine Garasu from the Nazareth Rehabilitation Centre, Agnes Titus from the Division of Community Development, Michael Anugu, relocation supervisor, and Melchior Dare, executive officer to the ABG Minister for Mining.

The chairman said that the board’s immediate task is to iron out differences between Tulele Peisa and the Bougainville Administration so that a good working environment can be created between the two organizations in the best interest of the people of the Carterets Islands.
