A company owned by seven Councils of Elders in the Buin area has paid
dividend payments totalling K25,000 for 2005.
South Bougainville Engineering will later be paying two more dividends
for 2006 and 2007.
According to managing director, Albert Kinani, the company made a profit
of K500,000 in 2005.
He said the dividend for 2006 is K3,000 while the dividend for 2007 has
been increased to K4,000.
Mr Kinani said that the return to shareholders was small but a sign of
good management.
The chairman, Paul Aisa, thanked the management for removing
misconceptions people had about the company not paying dividends.
He said this was a sign of good management and vowed to continue with
more developments in the Buin District.
